CHICAGO (July 15, 2019) – Jordan Hicks (Rochester, Minn./Mayo), who played at Loyola University Chicago from 2008-13, has signed a professional contract to play for Union Tours Metropole in France during the 2019-20 season. The 6-foot-6 guard/forward spent the 2018-19 campaign playing for Basket Esch in Luxembourg and put up impressive all-around numbers.
Playing for Basket Esch in 2018-19, the versatile Hicks contributed 20.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per outing, while connecting on 50.4 percent (181-for-359) of his field goal attempts and 46.2 percent (79-for-171) of his tries from three-point territory.
Hicks makes a return to France where he began his professional career in 2013-14 with Union Rennes.
While at Loyola, Hicks battled through numerous injuries to average 7.0 ppg and 3.6 rpg in 103 career games. He appeared poised for a big year in 2010-11 when he put up 11.7 ppg and 4.7 rpg over the first nine contests before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Hicks' best production in a full season came as a senior in 2012-13 when he averaged 9.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg, while pacing the Horizon League in three-point field goal percentage (.472) in league games. Rambler fans will never forget Hicks' two biggest games – a 23-point, eight rebound performance in a victory at No. 15 Butler in 2009 and his career-best, 26-point effort in an emotional Senior Day win against Cleveland State in 2013.
