CHICAGO (July 2, 2019) – After working out for the team earlier this summer, former Loyola University Chicago guard and 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year
Marques Townes (Edison, N.J./Saint Joseph/Fairleigh Dickinson) has been added to the Chicago Bulls' roster for NBA Summer League play in Las Vegas. Townes, a 6-foot-4 guard, will get NBA Summer League action started with the Bulls July 5 when they face the Los Angeles Lakers at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
An Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America selection in 2019, Townes had a fantastic senior campaign this year, averaging 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game as Loyola earned a berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). During his two-year Loyola career, Townes helped the Ramblers to a 52-20 overall record, two MVC regular-season titles and a pair of postseason appearances, including an unforgettable run to the NCAA Final Four in 2017-18.
Townes is the second former Loyola player to be participating in NBA Summer League play this year, joining Milton Doyle, who is on the Sacramento Kings' roster. Last summer, Townes' former teammate,
