CHICAGO (July 5, 2019) – Loyola University Chicago sophomore guard
Cooper Kaifes (Shawnee, Kan./Mill Valley) will be sidelined for the 2019-20 season after undergoing hip surgery this week. The 6-foot-3 guard, who averaged 5.7 points per game and connected on 46.5 percent (53-for-114) of his three-point field goal attempts in 2018-19, will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Ramblers.
Last season, Kaifes, who was a Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team and MVC All-Bench Team selection, scored in double figures on eight occasions, turning in one of the best performances by a freshman in a season opener in program history when he tallied 19 points against UMKC.
Moser and the Ramblers returns three starters from last year's 20-win squad that captured a share of the MVC regular-season championship and earned a trip to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).
Loyola welcomes in a highly regarded crop of newcomers that features junior
Tate Hall, who sat out last season after transferring from the University of Indianapolis, where he tallied 14.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 2017-18.
