The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team closed out its preseason slate on the road with a 1-0 win over Wisconsin this evening at McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis.
How It Happened
Loyola started off strong in the first half, with a shot on goal from junior
Giann Magno in the 18th minute that was saved by goalkeeper Dean Cowdroy.
Billy Hency registered two shots and one shot on goal in the match, two within just over a minute of each other. His first shot in the 25th minute was blocked, but his second in the 26th was right on target and went straight into the hands of Cowdroy.
Hency's third opportunity led to the lone goal of the game, when his shot rebounded off of a Wisconsin defender, and freshman
Jason Ybarra was able to send the ball into goal in the 51st minute.
The Ramblers were able to hang on for the remainder, only allowing two shots and one shot on goal from the Badgers.
