ST. LOUIS (January 8, 2021) – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed the Loyola University Chicago at Drake men's basketball series (Jan. 10-11) due to positive COVID-19 test results among Drake's Tier 1 personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. The Conference will announce make-up dates for the series between the Ramblers and the Bulldogs at a later date. Drake's series with Missouri State (Jan. 17-18) has also been postponed.
Loyola will now face Indiana State, Jan. 10 and 11 at Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The Sunday game (Jan. 10) will be played at 5:30 p.m. CT and air on ESPN2, while the Monday contest (Jan. 11) will begin at 6 p.m. CT and be shown on CBS Sports Network. Indiana State was originally scheduled to play Southern Illinois this weekend, but positive test results within SIU's Tier 1 personnel have forced the postponement of the SIU-ISU series.
MVC athletically-related activities will take place only to the extent permitted by local environments and applicable national, state, local and institutional guidelines in order to safeguard the health and safety of participants, staff and fans.
The Ramblers bring a four-game win streak into this weekend's series at Indiana State and are seeking their first-ever 3-0 start in Valley play. Loyola has begun conference play, regardless of league affiliation, with three straight wins just one time in the last 33 seasons, that coming in 2001-02, when it went 6-0 to open up the Horizon League slate.
