EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 31, 2021) – After an exciting win on Wednesday night, the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team (9-3-1, 6-1-1) is ready to hit the road and compete in another MVC match as they take on the SIIUE Cougars (3-9-1, 2-5).
 
The Ramblers secured their first-round bye in the MVC Tournament following the action on Wednesday night, however, they are still chasing Missouri State in hopes of winning the regular season title. 
 
Last Time Out: During Wednesday night's matchup against the Braves of Bradley University, the Ramblers were coming from behind after a goal in the fourth minute from the visitors. The match started off slow for Loyola, but they made a comeback in the second half, scoring three goals to ultimately win the match 3-1. 
 
Senior 
Billy Hency continues to be the star on offense for the Maroon & Gold as he finished his fourth game in a row with at least one goal and one assist. Following suit was junior 
Oscar Dueso, who also contributed one of each. Rounding out all of the point-scoring in this match was sophomore 
Julian Cisneros, who had the third goal, and Jacob Bookjans, who registered the remaining assist. 
 
With this win, the Ramblers now scored more than three goals in five of their last six games. The only game where they did not do this was in their 2-1 double overtime loss to Missouri State. 
 
Series Stuff: Loyola controls the history between these two teams with a 7-3-1 record. The last time these two teams faced off against one another was in Chicago on Oct. 3, when the Ramblers won 3-0 for their largest margin of victory over SIUE since their first match back in 2008.
 
The Maroon & Gold is currently on a three-game winning streak against SIUE. The streak began after a 1-0 win at home on Sept. 23, 2017. This is the longest win streak the Ramblers have had against the Cougars.
 
Segura is the primary goal scorer for SIUE along with four other players, all of whom have three goals on the season. The Ramblers well-rounded offense features 
Billy Hency, 
Oscar Dueso and 
Julian Cisneros, who will put pressure on the Cougars' defense.
 
In goal, the Ramblers look to be in a better position than the Cougars according to the stat sheet. Loyola's 
Marcel Kampman currently has a .738 goals-against average while SIUE's starting goalkeeper, Larsen, maintains a 1.259 GAA.
 
Up Next: The Ramblers will be back in action at Loyola Soccer Park for their final game of the regular season as they host Missouri State on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Before the match, Loyola will honor its four seniors
