CHICAGO (March 8, 2021) – Loyola University Chicago, which cemented a berth to the NCAA Tournament yesterday by winning the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, has climbed two positions to No. 18 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Men's Basketball Poll. The Ramblers have been ranked in the AP Poll in each of the last five weeks.
Â
Loyola has won 17 of its last 18 games, including each of the last six, and boasts the nation's top scoring defense (55.5). Over the weekend, the Ramblers rolled through Arch Madness, winning all of their games by double figures, the first time a Valley team has achieved that feat at the MVC Championship since 2017.Â
Â
The Ramblers (24-4) will learn their NCAA Tournament first-round opponent Sunday (March 14) during the NCAA Selection Show which airs on CBS at 5 p.m. CT.
