Indiana State is the No. 2 seed after setting a program record with six conference wins (6-2-0 in league play this spring).  Loyola and Indiana State have earned first-round byes in the field and will host semifinal matches on Wednesday, April 14.

Three teams tied for third place in the league standings with 12 points (1.50 points per match played).  Illinois State, UNI and Valparaiso had identical 1-1 records against the pool of the three tied teams, but Valparaiso earned the No. 3 seed based on its win against second-place Indiana State (Illinois State and UNI both lost to Indiana State).  Illinois State earned the No. 4 seed as the Redbirds defeated UNI in the team's regular-season matchup, giving UNI the No. 5 seed and a rematch against ISU in Normal, Ill., this Sunday at 5 p.m. CT (The Valley on ESPN).  Illinois State won the regular-season matchup against UNI, 2-0, on March 25.

The sixth-seeded Evansville Purple Aces will play Valparaiso in an opening-round match on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT (The Valley on ESPN).  Evansville (2-3-2) earned the No. 6 seed over Drake (2-4-2) as UE had 1.14 points per MVC match played, edging Drake's 1.00 figure. Missouri State tied with Drake with 1.00 points per match and also just missed the cut. Notably, the Aces were the only team to beat top-seeded Loyola this season.  UE and Valpo, who meet in the opening round on Sunday, played to a scoreless draw on March 24.

All five matches of the six-team tournament will air on The Valley on ESPN, and each match will be played at the higher seed.  The winner of the league tournament receives the MVC's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.  Loyola has represented the MVC in each of the past two seasons.  Attendance policies for the MVC Women's Soccer Championship vary from site to site based on university, local and/or state restrictions.  Fans are strongly encouraged to verify host policy in advance of making travel plans.
