Former Rambler Marques Townes Helps Kalev/Cramo To KML Championship

Loyola alum was the 2019 MVC Player of the Year

CHICAGO (May 18, 2021) – Former Loyola University Chicago men's basketball standout Marques Townes, who helped the Ramblers to a pair of Missouri Valley Conference titles as well as two postseason appearances in his two-year career in Rogers Park, recently helped his team in Estonia to the KML championship. Earlier this week, the 6-foot-4 guard was part of the Kalev/Cramo team that captured the KML title by defeating Parnu.

The 2019 MVC Player of the Year, who helped lead Loyola to a NCAA Final Four appearance in 2018, scored 16 points in a victory over Tarvas on May 2 in the semifinal round of the KML Championship.

Townes' stint in Estonia was the second stop thus far in his professional playing career overseas. He also had a two-season tour of duty with UCAM Murcia in Spain.

During his senior season at Loyola in 2018-19, Townes put up 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game in helping the Ramblers to a second straight MVC regular season crown.
