Devin Johnson turned in an impressive showing to lead the attack for the Ramblers during the second round of the NCAA Noblesville Regional today in Noblesville, Ind.

The Maroon & Gold closed the afternoon with a team score of 302, shaving seven strokes off their first-round total en route to recording the lowest regional team round in program history. Loyola finds itself sitting in 13
th place in the team standings at 611 (309-302), eight shots back of 12
th-place Campbell (307-296=603).

No. 5 Texas (282-279=561) has opened up a seven-shot edge over No. 18 Tennessee (285-283=568) atop the team leaderboard, while No. 19 North Florida's Nick Infanti (69-69) and UNC Wilmington's Blake McShea (70-68) share the lead in the race for individual medalist honors at 138.

"We had a little more fun today," Loyola head men's golf coach
Erik Hoops said. "We didn't have to break out all the rain gear, which was nice to see. Devin and Ryan (Magee) both really got it going. It was pretty cool to see Ryan make all those birdies and an eagle on the back nine. Devin played a great round. It's been a big week for him and his world ranking."

Johnson dazzled today at the par-72, 7,173-yard course at The Sagamore Club. The Geneva, Ill. product finished his day with four birdies and played the back nine at three-under-par as he wrapped up second-round action with a one-under-par 71, besting former Rambler Nick Willenborg's previous 18-hole regional program-low by two shots. Today's effort gives Johnson a two-over-par 146 (75-71) for the event, putting him as part of a seven-way tie for 34
th on the individual leaderboard.

Senior
Ryan Magee is five shots back of Johnson and tied for 52
nd at 151 (76-75) following a second-round three-over-par 75. Out of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., Magee amassed a team-high five birdies. The senior holed out from 120 yards away for eagle on the par-four 13
th hole as part of a one-under-par back nine.

Sophomore
Zach Walsh chipped two strokes off his effort from Monday, handing in a five-over-par 77 to move into a tie for 66
th with a 156 (79-77). Fellow sophomore
Timmy Crawford and senior
Justin LaFrance both closed the day with scores of 79. Crawford resides in 70
th at 158 (79-79), while LaFrance's 159 (80-79) has him 71
st.
