Valentine on Rubin: "Miles is exactly what is coveted in basketball at the highest levels right now. He is a long and fluid athlete that has the ability to impact winning on both sides of the ball. Miles is an elite rim protector that can block shots on and off the ball. He's got a soft touch around the rim with either hand and we really think he's got a future in shooting the ball from the perimeter because of that touch. Miles comes from elite high school and AAU programs that have prepared him to contribute on the court from day one. Miles also comes from a great family that has instilled a high level of work ethic and character in him that will fit incredibly well within our culture. We couldn't be more excited for Miles' future as a Rambler."
Rubin on Loyola: "I chose Loyola because from day one I always felt welcome. I never felt like I was forcing a bond with my coaches and future teammates. It's always laughs and good work being put in. Loyola is very close to home for me and I feel like I am exactly where I belong."
Coming off a thrilling 88-82 overtime win against Fairleigh Dickinson in the 2022-23 season opener this past Monday, Loyola, which is in search of a third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, heads across town to clash with UIC at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 11 inside Credit Union 1 Arena.
