Jolie Brochu handed in the top two rounds of the day for the Loyola University Chicago women's golf team on the opening day of the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla.

Loyola totaled a 611 (303-308) through the first 36 holes of play today at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club (par 71; 6,056 yards), a score that has it sitting in 13
th place in the team race. Florida Gulf Coast (282-297=579) leads a tightly-packed top five, while Minori Nagano of Seminole State resides atop the individual leaderboard with a five-under-par 137 (68-69).

Martinez carded two of the top three individual rounds of the day by a Rambler today in The Sunshine State. Following a first-round 75, the Menomonee Falls, Wis. native played the back nine of her second round at one-under-par, closing with a two-over-par 73, the low 18-hole mark for the Maroon & Gold. Martinez is currently part of a five-way tie for 22
nd at 148 (75-73). Â

Brochu fell just a stroke shy of matching her 18-hole career low during opening-round play, sinking a pair of birdies on the front nine en route to a three-over-par 74. After posting a second-round 79, the Goodrich, Mich. product is tied for 45
th place with a 153 (74-79).

Abby Thielbar is knocking on the door of the top 50, tied for 51
st after putting up a 154 (76-78), while junior
Caroline Dayton is three strokes back at 157 (78-79), tied for 66
th. Freshman
Grace Suter used a second-round 78 to climb into a tie for 74
th with a 161 (83-78).

Cate Reisinger, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 76
th at 162 (80-82).
