CHICAGO (March 27, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago women's golf team will compete in the penultimate event of its 2021-22 regular season schedule at the beginning of the week when it sees action at the Diane Daugherty Invitational in St. Charles, Mo.

Play at the par-71, 5,987-yard course at the Bogey Hills Country Club will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday morning and will feature the event's opening 36 holes. Tuesday's final round is scheduled for 9 a.m., with
Golfstat.com slated to provide live scoring throughout both days.

In what may serve as an early preview of next month's Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Loyola will be joined by eight Valley foes in the 16-team field. Host Southern Illinois, Bradley, Drake, Illinois State, Indiana State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, and Valparaiso are slated to be in attendance along with Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Creighton, Omaha, South Dakota, and Western Michigan.

For the fourth straight event this spring, Loyola will be represented by senior
Lorenza Martinez, junior
Caroline Dayton, sophomore
Abby Thielbar, and freshmen
Jolie Brochu and
Grace Suter. Sophomore
Kate Meier will make her 2021-22 debut as an individual.

In the Maroon & Gold's most recent action at the Spring Break Shootout, Martinez posted a 54-hole season low, handing in a 225 (75-73-77) that saw her finish as the top Rambler on the final leaderboard, tying for 31
st. Brochu also turned in a balanced effort, bookending her time in Dade City, Fla. with rounds of 74 to earn a share of 41
st at 227 (74-79-74).

The Ramblers will wrap up the regular season portion of their spring slate April 8-9 at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill.
