CHICAGO (May 26, 2022) – Chantz Visse (Solon, Ohio/Solon), a senior on the Loyola University Chicago men's cross country and track & field team, has been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced by the organization on Thursday.  A First Team selection, Visse will now move on to the national ballot.
 
Out of Solon, Ohio, Visse enjoyed a standout cross country campaign for the Maroon & Gold during the 2021 season, posting new 8k (24:09.8) and 10k (31:37.3) personal bests.  After earning Honorable Mention All-Missouri Valley Conference honors during the spring 2021 season, Visse raised the bar this past season, posting the top finish by a Rambler at the MVC Championship since 2017 as he placed fourth overall (24:39.7) en route to being named First Team All-Valley.
 
During the track & field season, Visse clocked new personal bests in both the 3,000m run (8:28.32) and 5,000m run (14:41.80), the latter effort of which came at the MVC Indoor Championships.
 
In the classroom, Visse, a three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete honoree for his career, sports a perfect 4.00 as a philosophy major.  He was honored with the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award this past March.
 
To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
