Zach Walsh continues his run of strong play as the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team placed in eleventh after day one of the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
The Ramblers combined to shoot a 299 in their first round before following it up with a 289 to give them a 36-hole total of 588.
Walsh put together another strong round, utilizing five birdies to card a three-under-par 68 in his second round. The grad student currently sits in a tie for 20
th with a 142 (74-68). A stroke behind him was sophomore
Sebastian Kasun, who carded a round of even-par in his first round to place in 23
rd with a 143 (71-72). Sophomore
Charlie Kulwin (T-63; 76-76) and redshirt sophomore
Zach Mulhearn (T-67; 78-75) carded rounds of 152 and 153 respectively while sophomore
Ryan Walsh rounded out the leaderboard with a 155 (T-72; 81-84). On the individual side, freshman
Jackson Overton (83-72=155) matched
Ryan Walsh, shaving off eleven strokes to post a one-over 72 in his second round.
The Ramblers close competition on Tuesday, beginning their final round with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun (CT) start.
