Ramblers Face Chicago State Tomorrow on the Road

Tip is set for 4 p.m.

CHICAGO (Nov. 8, 2023) - The Loyola Chicago women's basketball team is set to take on Chicago State this Thursday (Nov. 9) for its first road game of the season. The squad is searching for its first win of the season after falling to UIC, 67-51, in its season opener at Gentile Arena this past Monday.

  • Seven letterwinners return to the roster, including three starters. The Ramblers welcome six newcomers, including two freshman and four transfers.
  • In addition to new players, Loyola added assistant coach Simon Harris and assistant coach Jenna Rubino-McCormick to the program in the off-season.
  • Head coach Allison Guth is in her second season at the helm of Loyola with a 6-23 record. She enters her eighth year as a head coach after spending the first six seasons at Yale. Guth holds a 99-74 career head coaching record.
SCOUTING THE CHICAGO STATE COUGARS
Playing its first game of the season Thursday, CSU will look to start head coach Andrea Williams' second season at the helm with a win. The independent Cougars went 6-22 last season, including four wins over Hartford to end the campaign.

Chicago State returns Tae'lor Willard and Josie Hill, the team's No. 2 and 3 leading scorers in 2022-23. Willard and Hill averaged 10.9 and 8.4 ppg last season, respectively. Taylor Norrisis back this season as well - the 5-foot-10 forward averaged 21.2 minutes of playing time and racked up 181 points last year.

ALL-TIME vs. CSU
The Ramblers have won the last 11 matchups with Chicago State having not lost to CSU since 2007. The two teams last met on Nov. 11, 2021, when Loyola beat the Cougars, 71-59, at Gentile.

The Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team fell, 67-51, to crosstown rival UIC Monday night in its season opener. The Ramblers were led by Alyssa Fisher's 14 points and Sitori Tanin's 12.
