CHICAGO (June 13, 2023) – Head women's soccer coach
Barry Bimbi announced the 2023 schedule Tuesday afternoon. Next season's slate features two exhibition matches, three matches vs. Power Five opponents, and 10 home contests.
"We are very excited about our non-conference schedule again this season," said Bimbi. "We were able to schedule top teams throughout the Midwest that will expose us to different systems and styles of play, which will prepare us for our second season in the ultra-competitive Atlantic 10 conference."
First for the Ramblers will be a pair of exhibition matches against 2022 NCAA Tournament opponents. Loyola will head to Milwaukee on Aug. 9 before returning to Chicago to take on Michigan State on Aug. 12. The Spartans advanced to the second round after beating the Panthers in the opening game.
The regular season will open with back-to-back Power Five opponents. The Ramblers will play at Illinois on Aug. 17 followed by a home match against Kansas on Aug. 20. Wisconsin will also make the trip to Loyola Soccer Park on Sept. 7.
Loyola will see Toledo, Bowling Green, and DePaul on the road in its non-conference schedule. Additional home matches will be played against Western Illinois (Aug. 31) and Ball State (Sept. 3).
Atlantic 10 action will then open with the Ramblers hosting the 2022 conference champions. Loyola and Saint Louis will face off on Sept. 14.
The Ramblers will also host Saint Joseph's (Sept. 21), George Washington (Sept. 24), Richmond (Oct. 12), and VCU (Oct. 22), while Loyola will play at Duquesne, Massachusetts, Davidson, Dayton, and La Salle this conference season.
A-10 quarterfinals are scheduled for Oct. 27-28, semifinals for Nov. 1, and the championship on Nov. 5. All rounds are hosted on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
