WASHINGTON - Loyola Chicago's Oliva Beam was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week after Loyola's home win this weekend. It marks Beam's first honor for the Ramblers this season.

Beam was a pivotal piece in Loyola back line, playing a full 90 minutes on the pitch against Duquesne. She helped the Ramblers post a 2-0 shutout win over the Dukes and held them without a shot on goal attempt. It was Loyola's ninth clean sheet of the season.

The fifth-year defender also scored in the win, netting her first goal in the Maroon & Gold. She found the back of the net in the 63rd minute and was assisted by Emily Roberts and Ava Fleming.
