DAVIDSON, N.C. (September 12, 2023) – Led by a career day by graduate student
Zach Walsh, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team wrapped up the Rive Run Collegiate in a share of eleventh place. The graduate student carded five birdies on his round to come home with a career-low 67 in his final round.

"I'm really happy with how the guys turned it around today," said head coach
Erik Hoops after the round. "Yesterday we were obviously a little disappointed with our first few rounds but the guys didn't hang their heads but came out today in a good headspace and played much better. We were very close to finishing quite a few spots higher this week but that's golf some days."

The Ramblers concluded their week with a final-round score of 286, jumping two spots on the leaderboard with a cumulative score of 871 (288-297-286). Radford captured the team title with a 839 (279-279-276) while East Carolina's Carter Busse took the individual crown with a 200 (68-64-68).Â

Sophomore
Sebastian Kasun (73-74-70=217) was Loyola's leading finisher, carding an even-par 70 in his final round to capture a 28
th place finish. One stroke behind him was fellow sophomore
Charlie Kulwin in 32
nd with a 218 (70-75-73).
Zach Walsh's final-round 67 catapulted him to 48
th on the leaderboard with a 222 (74-81-67) while sophomore
Ryan Walsh placed one stroke behind him with a 223 (71-76-76). Rounding out the leaderboard was redshirt sophomore
Zach Mulhearn with a 229 (76-72-81).

"We've got a good base to work off of and into Drake for the next one," Hoops added. "I know we'll be ready."

The Ramblers will take two weeks to regroup before returning to action at the Zach Johnson Invitational, September 25-26, in Des Moines, Iowa.Â
