CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago track & field heads east for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships following a historic indoor regular season that saw the 60m hurdle program record broken four times and over 20 top-10 times fall.
Jayla Johnson is capping her career by rewriting the record books. She's broken the 60m hurdle record four times this season, including twice at the GVSU Big Meet with a new record in the prelims before beating it again in the finals.
The new record of 8.60 is also the fastest time clocked in the event in the conference this season.
In Loyola's final meet of the year at the Windy City Invite,
Delia McDade-Clay,
Grace Kuhn and
Julia Isham landed on the program's top-10 3,000m times list. McDade-Clay's time of 9:29.60 put her at third fastest in Loyola's books and is the fourth best time by an A10 athlete this season.
For the men at the Windy City Invite,
Francois Guilhot improved his 3,000m time to 8:00.53, which continues to sit sixth on Loyola's top-10 list.
Jason Clayton and Guilhot have the two fastest 3,000m times in the A-10 this year. Clayton clocked his at Boston University with a time of 7:57.39, while Guilhot's time of 8:00.53 sits second in the league.
The Ramblers look to capitalize on their success this weekend at the indoor championships.
