MOBILE, AL. (March 25, 2024) – Following an improved second round, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team climbed the leaderboard after thirty-six holes at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate to find themselves in eighth place.
The Ramblers combined to shoot a score of 290 strokes, good for a four-stroke improvement from the previous day's 294, as well as a four-spot improvement on the team leaderboard.
Graduate student
Zach Walsh led the Ramblers with the low-round of the day, firing a one-under-par 70 to place in 13
thwith a 142 (72-70). Sophomore
Charlie Kulwin improved between rounds to fire a one-over-par 72 to place in 28
th with a 146 (74-72) while freshman
Jackson Overton fired a 74 in his second round to come home in 46
th with a 149 (75-74). Sophomore
Sebastian Kasun placed one shot behind Overton with a 150 (T-52; 76-74) while sophomore
Dori Lee rounded out the lineup with a 152 (T-67; 73-79).
Due to forecasted inclement weather on Tuesday, teams attempted to begin the final round early, but could not complete the round before play was suspended for darkness. The final round will resume on Tuesday morning with an approximate 10 a.m. (CT) start.
