CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago women's soccer announced its 2024 schedule Monday afternoon. The Ramblers will play 10 regular season home matches, take on three Big Ten opponents, and see three 2023 NCAA Tournament teams.
Loyola also has one exhibition match slated for Aug. 8 against Milwaukee at Loyola Soccer Park.
"We are excited for the challenge of a schedule filled with quality opponents both in the non-conference and A-10 portions this fall," said head coach
Barry Bimbi. "Having the opportunity to compete against three Big Ten teams on the road, in hostile environments, will only make us stronger come the A-10 season."
The regular season kicks off on Loyola's home turf with the visiting Eastern Illinois Panthers on Aug. 15 with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The Ramblers then hit the road for the first time taking on Purdue on Aug. 22 before returning to Chicago for DePaul on Aug. 25.
August action concludes at Wisconsin on the 29
th. The Badgers made it to the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Loyola will play Bowling Green and Toledo in back-to-back home matches on Sept. 1 and Sept. 5, and continue with a 2023 Sweet Sixteen opponent at Michigan State on Sept. 8.
The final non-conference match falls on Sunday, Sept. 15 with Eastern Michigan at home.
Atlantic 10 play opens with a home match vs. Dayton on Sept. 19. The Ramblers will also play La Salle (Sept. 29), Davidson (Oct. 13), Massachusetts (Oct. 20), and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 27) a home this conference season.
Loyola will play at Fordham to start the road portion of the A-10 slate on Sept. 22 followed by reigning conference champions at Saint Louis on Sept. 26.
The Ramblers will also see VCU (Oct. 3), Richmond (Oct. 6), and Rhode Island (Oct. 24) at their home venues this year.
"The returning group of players improved immensely during our spring practices and games, and with the addition of a quality freshmen class, expectations are high within the program," continued Bimbi.
