WASHINGTON - For the second straight week and third time this season, Loyola Chicago's
Avary DeBlieck is named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. DeBlieck helped the Ramblers finished the regular season with two wins at George Mason, helping clinch the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
At George Mason, DeBlieck totaled16 blocks, averaging 2.29 blocks per set.
In the first match, DeBlieck tallied seven total blocks and broke the single-season record with her third block of the match. She needed 145 to set the new mark and has 158 total blocks after the weekend's action.
She added nine more in Loyola's 3-1 win in match two vs. George Mason.
