WASHINGTON — Loyola University Chicago swept the Atlantic 10's weekly track awards on Tuesday, as graduate student James Lawrence was named Men's Track Performer of the Week and graduate student Roisin Treacy earned Women's Track Performer of the Week following standout performances at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
Lawrence collected the conference's top weekly honor after shattering the Loyola men's 5,000-meter school record with a time of 13:32.15, a mark that currently ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and 22nd in the nation. His performance came in one of the country's premier early-season distance fields and broke a program record that had stood since 2022.
Treacy continued her rise as one of the league's top distance runners, earning A-10 recognition on the women's side after running 9:17.49 in the 3,000 meters — a seven-second personal best that elevated her to No. 2 on Loyola's all-time list. Her time leads the Atlantic 10 and stands 27th nationally, marking one of the fastest early-season performances in program history.
The honors mark Loyola's first weekly awards of the 2025–26 indoor season.
