WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Zoe Hevey and
Allison Deardorff of Loyola Chicago women's soccer were respectively named the Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week and the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week, per the league's announcement on Monday afternoon.
Hevey, a junior forward out of Pewaukee, Wis., earned her first weekly honor of the season after scoring her first career brace, both unassisted goals, at Eastern Michigan (Sept. 11) to give Loyola a 2-0 victory. At Marquette (Sept. 14), Hevey assisted
Molly Pistorius' goal in the sixth minute, which was the Ramblers' first shot of the match and their first goal against the Golden Ealges since 1992. Hevey finished the week with five points and four shots on goal.
A native of Itasca, Ill., Deardorff had a combined 10 saves against Eastern Michigan and Marquette, including a season-high seven-save shutout at EMU. The redshirt sophomore goalkeeper had a .909 save percentage across the last two matches, and she currently paces the league in two categories, goals against average (.375) and shutouts per game (.750).
Both of their performances helped Loyola improve to 5-1-2 overall, which is the Ramblers' best season start since 2022 when the they opened 4-2-2 before conference play. Additonally, Loyola's 4-0-1 road record in nonconference play is a program-best since at least 2004.
The Ramblers are back home to open A-10 play against the Fordham Rams on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
