INDIANAPOLIS - Loyola University Chicago's men's and women's track teams wrapped up the 2026 indoor season opener with another strong day of competition Saturday at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
The Ramblers capped the weekend with multiple victories, top-five finishes and a series of personal records across middle- and long-distance events.
In the women's mile, Roisin Treacy claimed first place overall, winning the event in 4:53.56. Leah Klapatauskas followed with a fourth-place finish in 5:01.07. Claire Blotnik placed third in her heat with a personal-best time of 5:10.60, while Mackenzie Armstrong also recorded a PR, finishing fifth in her heat in 5:18.10. Jo Collins took eighth in her heat in 5:23.67, and McKenzie Willard finished 12th in her heat with a time of 5:33.52.
The Loyola men posted an impressive showing in the mile, placing four runners in the top six overall. Izak Bibile led the way with a second-place finish in 4:06.27, marking a personal record and the 10th-fastest time in program history. Colby Revord took third overall in a PR of 4:07.07, while Nate Boutin finished fourth in 4:09.99 and Eugene Niox-Chateau placed sixth in 4:11.79. Dylan Ybarra won his heat in 4:15.69, and Francesco Benelli took third in his heat with a time of 4:17.99.
In the women's 800 meters, Natalya Kuchenbuch finished fourth overall and third in her heat, crossing the line in 2:16.83.
The men's 800 meters saw Miguel Abaitua place fifth overall with a time of 1:51.95. James Howell recorded a personal best of 1:53.18 to finish second in his heat and eighth overall.
Loyola opened the weekend Friday with a win from Jake Phillips in the men's 3,000 meters, five top-10 finishes in the women's 3K and a second-place performance from the women's distance medley relay.
