CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago and Dayton square off Saturday afternoon for the Ramblers home A-10 opener. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in Gentile Arena. Both the Ramblers and Flyers won earlier this week and look to remain undefeated in conference play.
Saturday's game will be on CBS Sports Network with Jordan Kent (PXP) and Mike O'Donnell (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with
Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Senior Analyst).
RAMBLINGS
• The Ramblers won the A-10 opener earlier this week in Rhode Island, 61-57.
Justin Moore led all-scorers with 19 points, while
Miles Rubin (12) and
Kayde Dotson (11) joined him in double-figures.
• Moore went 3-4 from three and added a team-leading five assists and three steals in the win.
• The win marked Dotson's sixth straight game with at least 10 points. He had nine in the first half after making is first three attempts from three-point range.
• Dotson tipped off his streak with 10 points vs. Central Michigan. He followed up with 13 points and a season-high six rebounds vs. Princeton.
• The sophomore guard had 12 and 13 points against Chicago State and San Francisco, respectively. Most recently, Dotson scored a career-high 26 vs. Santa Clara.
• Loyola finished the non-conference season 4-9 after beating Santa Clara in the finale, 80-78.
• Dotson exploded for a career-high 26 points. He drained five threes and went 7-8 from the line. It marked his first career 20-point performance. He added four rebounds and an assist.
• Moore scored 15 in the win, going 6-9 from the field with three rebounds and two assists.

Deywilk Tavarez put up 13 points off the bench with three from the arc.

Xavier Amos and Alexander Richard did a bit of everything for Loyola. Amos tallied nine points, six rebounds, one assist, and a team-high two blocks. Richardson added six points, five boards, two assists, and a steal.
• In his first career game for the Ramblers, Amos dropped 18 points on 5-8 from the field with four threes vs. Chicago State. He added three boards, one assist, and two blocks. Amos followed up with 17 points and a season-high seven rebounds vs. San Francisco.
• Rubin continues to be a force at the rim, leading the Ramblers with 33 blocks this season.
• He leads the A-10 in blocks (22) and blocks per game (2.3). He ranks 15th and 23rd in the NCAA in the respective categories.
• Head coach
Drew Valentine is in his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled an 88-60 overall record as head coach.
SCOUTING DAYTON
The Flyers are 10-4 overall and 1-0 in A-10 play entering the weekend. Dayton opened conference play with a 63-56 win over Fordham. Dayton has a top-100 scoring defense in the country, holding opponents to 69.3 points per game. The Flyers also force 16.6 turnovers per game to rank 32nd in the nation. Their 9.6 steals per game is second in the A-10 and 32nd in the country.
Javon Bennett is Dayton's leading scorer averaging 16.1 points per game. He's scored at least 10 in the last five games and in 12 total games this season. Bennett scored a season-high 25 points on two occasions. He ranked ninth in the A-10 with 31 made three-pointers this year.
Anthony Grant is in his ninth season with Dayton. He has a 182-87 record at the helm.
SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers lead the all-time series, 26-17. Loyola beat Dayton at home last year, 76-62. Rubin scored 14 in the win.
