CHICAGO — The Loyola Chicago women's golf team heads to Paducah, Kentucky to take part in The Velvet Classic on Sep. 14-15 for the second event of their season.

The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,030-yard Country Club of Paducah. Players are set to tee off with a shotgun start on Monday at 8:30 a.m. (CT) and will play the first two rounds continuously. The event's third and final round will be played on Tuesday with players teeing off again at 8:30 a.m. (CT). 

Loyola will be joined in the 14-team event by host Murray State and its B-Team, Alabama State, Purdue Fort Wayne, UAB, Southern Illinois, West Georgia, Tennessee State, North Alabama, Belmont, West Florida, Austin Peay, and the University of the Cumberlands.

Troy won the 2025 Velvet Classic as a team with a score of +31, while Constanza Quiroga won as an individual in a playoff with a score of +5. Loyola finished the 13-team event in a tie for fourth place with a score of +50. The highest-finishing Rambler was Grace Hui, who ended in a tie for ninth place with a score of +9.

Head Coach Brandy Johnston and the Ramblers enter The Velvet Classic coming off a tie for fifth place at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational, in which the team recorded its best 54-hole score since the 2022 Cardinal Classic and Grace Hui finished as the individual runner-up.

The Ramblers lineup for The Velvet Classic will consist of juniors Grace Hui and Madison Haugen and sophomores Robbin Zetrouer and Maureen O'Leary.
