In Short...
Quinnipiac scored two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie and held on to defeat Loyola, 5-3, this morning at the Total Control Sports Invitational in Rosemont.
Erica Nagel continued her torrid start to the season with three hits to lead the Ramblers.
How It Happened
+ Quinnipiac got on the board first, scratching out a run in the top of the second inning without the benefit of a hit
+ Two walks and a third hitter reaching on a fielders choice loaded the bases with an error later in the inning gifting the Bobcats the opening run
+ Loyola stranded Brie Pasquale after a lead-off double in the bottom half of the inning but the Ramblers broke through with a pair of runs in the third
+ Nagel was in the middle of it, coming up with a one-out single and both her and Brooke Wilson, who reached on a walk, came around on a Brooke Wyderski double, with an error plating Wilson and sending Wyderski to third base
+ Quinnipiac answered right back, with a pair of doubles leading to a two-run inning that gave the Bobcats a 3-2 lead and chased starter Ashley Rogers
+ A leadoff walk to Pasquale in the fourth helped the Ramblers tie the game, as she came around to score on a one-out double from Katie Kasubke
+ Loyola had runners in scoring position in both the fifth and sixth innings but could not score and Quinnipiac rallied in the seventh
+ Three hits and a sacrifice fly were good enough to push across two runs and the Ramblers had two on with two outs in the bottom of the seventh but could not get the key hit
