WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Atlantic 10 conference tabbed Loyola Chicago freshman pitcher
Anna Kiel (9-5) as Co-Rookie of the Week, marking the first weekly honor of her career and fourth overall for the Ramblers this season.
Out of South Elgin, Ill., Kiel helped lead Loyola to a perfect weekend, sweeping George Washington at home for the Ramblers' fifth A-10 series of the season. The southpaw went 1-0, pitching 7.1 innings and gave up zero earned runs while striking out three. She also contributed at the plate, averaging .667, going 1-for-1 in game two and hitting a career-high 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in the series closer.
Kiel and the Ramblers hit the road to George Mason this weekend for their last road series of the regular season on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
