CHICAGO (November 14, 2019) -Â Loyola continues a three-game homestand, its longest of the 2019-20 season, when Jesuit rival Saint Joseph's invades Gentile Arena for a Saturday matinee. The Ramblers, who have won 21 of their last 25 home nonconference contests, are looking to avoid their worst start through four games since 2011-12 (0-4). Dating back to last season, Loyola is posting 77.3 points per game and shooting 56.1 percent (115-for-205) from the field in its last four nonconference outings at Gentile Arena.Â
Center Cameron Krutwig has recorded a pair of double-doubles already this season, a figure that ranks eighth nationally. The big man also ranks 15th in the country with 7.3 assists per game. His 11 dimes versus UC Davis November 5 were the most by a Rambler since November 20, 2009, when Courtney Stanley doled out 11 helpers at Holy Cross.
In two games at Gentile Arena this season, the Ramblers have held opponents to 62.0 ppg and only 38.3 percent (44-for-115) accuracy from the field, including 31.4 percent (18-for-35) from beyond the three-point stripe.
Redshirt junior guard/forwardTate Hall  has been nearly unstoppable in two appearances at Gentile Arena this month, putting up 18.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.5 apg and 3.0 spg, while shooting a sizzling 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the field and 40 percent (4-for-10) from long distance.
Loyola – Saint Joseph's – The Series
The Ramblers and Hawks are meeting for the third time in a series that just began in 2016. Saint Joseph's has prevailed in each of the previous two meetings and this is its first trip to Rogers Park.
Last season, these two teams played a defensive battle at The Palestra in Philadelphia that was ultimately pulled out by Saint Joseph's, 45-42, on Lamarr Kimble's three-pointer with 0.5 seconds left. Clayton Custer led Loyola with 12 points.
In two meetings with Saint Joseph's, Loyola has limited the Hawks to 58.0 ppg and 36.7 percent (40-for-109) shooting from the field and 29.3 percent (12-for-41) from three-point land.
Loyola is 53-79 (.402) all time against current members of the Atlantic-10 Conference. At one point, the Ramblers were conference mates with current A-10 programs Dayton, Duquesne, La Salle and Saint Louis.
Scouting Saint Joseph's
Under the direction of first-year coach Billy Lange, Saint Joseph's is off to a 2-1 start, with wins over Bradley (86-81) and Connecticut (96-87), and is playing its third straight true road matchup.Â
