Loyola Chicago (9-3-4, 4-2-2 A-10) hosts Rhode Island (11-4-1, 5-2-1 A-10) in its final home game of the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Saint Louis (12-3-1, 7-1 A-10) for the regular season finale on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 12:30 p.m.
The Ramblers will honor their eight seniors ahead of Thursday's kickoff.
QUICK KICKS
- After registering six points in Loyola's 2-0 week, Emily Rossi was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week. The redshirt sophomore scored a brace in the Ramblers' 4-1 victory against the VCU Rams (Oct. 19) and netted the game-winner in Loyola's 2-1 comeback win at Duquesne (Oct. 16). Her performance also earned her an honorable mention in Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week (Oct. 21).
- Goalkeeper Allison Deardorff posted her eighth shutout of the season against Richmond (Oct.12); she's two shutouts away from matching the single-season program record she set last season with 10.
- In the Atlantic 10, Deardorff ranks third in four categories: goals against average (.813), shutouts per game (.500), saves percentage (.847) and saves per game (4.5).
- Nationally, Deardorff is tied for 13th in shutouts and ranks 33rd in saves percentage.
- Loyola remains unbeaten at home since its season opener against Northwestern on August 14.
- The Ramblers rank ninth in the eastern region of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Top 10 Regional Rankings.
- Loyola welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.
- At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola.
SCOUTING REPORT
Rhode Island currently ranks third in the A-10, behind No. 1 Dayton and No. 2 Saint Louis. The Rams' two conference losses were to La Salle, 1-0 (Oct. 2), and Saint Louis, 4-1 (Oct. 19). Senior McKenna Slyvester leads the team with eight goals while junior Lauren MacDonald is the shots on goal leader behind 33, ranking her third in the league. Starting goalkeeper Dani Eden has 51 saves on the year and a 0.66 GAA, putting her at No. 2 in the A-10.
Saint Louis' only loss in league play was a 2-0 shutout from Dayton in Hermann Stadium (Oct. 16). 13 Billikens have recorded at least one goal so far this season with redshirt senior Julia Simon leading the way (6); sophomore forward Kim Hope paces the team in shots (32). Starting keeper Emma Parker has 32 saves on the season and a 0.89 GAA through 16 games played. Earlier this fall, the Billikens fell 3-0 to a Top 10 Iowa Hawkeyes team on the road (Aug. 31); the Ramblers and Hawkeyes played to a scoreless draw in Chicago two days prior. Saint Louis faces Fordham in the Bronx before hosting Loyola.
SERIES HISTORY
The Ramblers are searching for their first program wins over both A-10 opponents.
The Ramblers and Rams have only met once, last season in a 1-0 loss for Loyola in Kingston, R.I. Deardorff made three saves in the match and Zoe Hevey led the Ramblers with three shots, two on-target.
Saint Louis holds the series advantage 5-0-1 with Loyola and the Billikens have a 3-0 record at Hermann Stadium against the Ramblers. Last season Loyola secured the first draw in the series after an early goal from Jadyn Harris then SLU converted on a second-half penalty kick; Deardorff stopped five shots.
