CHICAGO – The Loyola University Chicago men's and women's track teams are set to compete at the Notre Dame Invite on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Loftus Center in South Bend, Ind.
The meet serves as a tune-up for the prestigious Meyo Invite, which will also take place in South Bend on Friday, Jan. 30.
Competition for Loyola begins with the men's and women's mile at 12:25 p.m. CT, followed by the men's and women's 1,000 meters at 1:30 p.m. The men's and women's 3,000 meters are scheduled to start at 2:50 p.m., while the women's 4x400-meter relay will close the meet for LUC at 3:40 p.m. In all events, the women will compete before the men.
Loyola last competed at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, where
Jake Phillips won the men's 3,000 meters. The Loyola women placed five runners in the top 10 of the 3,000 meters and finished second in the distance medley relay.
Roisin Treacy claimed first place in the women's mile, while the Loyola men posted a strong showing in the mile with four runners finishing in the top six, led by
Izak Bibile's runner-up performance.Â
